action

India in 1880: The supporters of the violent and sinister sect "Sons of the Goddess Kali" threaten the country and its people. The British doctor Simon Palmer, familiar with this country since childhood and entrusted with medical tasks - the fight against smallpox - in a remote village , feels this firsthand. He expects an urgently needed delivery of medicine, but it does not come because the caravan carrying them was attacked and stopped by the supporters of the fanatical sect priest. Palmer's assistant and a few helpers who were supposed to bring the serum from Madanpur also disappear without a trace. Dr. Palmer asks the British colonial rulers under the leadership of Governor Talbot for assistance, but the British authorities show no interest and reject him. Palmer then begins to investigate on his own. When, during a party in the British Officers' Club, he asked for a conversation with the snobby and a little childish Captain Walsh several times, and he was obviously Dr. Palmer's troubles due to the lack of delivery of medication and the missing persons does not take seriously, a sharp argument ensues with the blonde officer. When Walsh also hints that Palmer is chasing after the beautiful young wife of the governor, Catherine Talbot, there is a fight between the two men. Major Ford, the governor's right-hand man, can barely intervene. Palmer, angry at Walsh's ignorance, knocks him to the ground. Shortly thereafter, Captain Walsh is found murdered and Dr. Palmer suspected of the act. In truth, he was strangled by a hired killer from the Kali Yug sect. Major Ford is forced to issue an arrest warrant for Dr. Palmer exhibit.

Thanks to a warning from Gopal, the Indian secretary of the governor, he escapes arrest and, in his search for the conspirators and backers of the sect, gets into dangerous adventures. Only the beautiful dancer Amrita, who last saw Captain Walsh alive, stands with Palmer and will henceforth be his companion. Dr. Little does Palmer suspect that she has long fallen in love with the handsome European, who is so much more selfless than her own compatriots. Amrita is asked by the fanatical sect priest Saddhu, under whose spell she is, to go immediately to the palace of the maharajah in Hasnabad. Palmer and Gopal follow her there. In Hasnabad, the Kali Yug sect is planning to kidnap Kanchan, the Maharaja's grandson. Some sect members are captured. Palmer and Gopal, who are believed to be accomplices of the kidnappers, are also imprisoned. Nobody believes their pledges of innocence, instead the maharaja's lackeys torture them both and threaten them with a terrible death if they do not confess and tell where the maharaja's grandson has been taken. Buried in the sand, the Maharaja's prisoners wait for an elephant to trample their heads. When the elephant in front of Dr. Palmer's head lifts his right foreleg, the maharajah stops him for the time being and sends an emissary to the British governor to find out whether Palmer is really who he claims to be. Governor Talbot learns from his wife that Dr. Palmer, rumored to have had an affair with Catherine, who was her childhood friend. But his wife assures him that there has never been a liaison with him.
