Career

Kossila was born in Neuilly-sur-Seine in the Hauts-de-Seine department, France . During his junior years, however, the winger played in Finland at the capital club Jokerit Helsinki . In the summer of 2009 he finally moved to the youth department of Espoo Blues , where he played in the U18 and U20 teams until 2012. The Finn then turned his back on European ice hockey and enrolled at St. Cloud State University in the US state of Minnesota . There Kossila played parallel to his studies for four years for the university team in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association and after the restructuring of the divisions of the National Collegiate Athletic Association in the newly created National Collegiate Hockey Conference . In the same he celebrated winning the division championship with the team in his fourth and final year.

After completing his training, the undrafted free agent signed an entry-level contract with the Anaheim Ducks from the National Hockey League in late March 2016 . There he was used for the rest of the 2015/16 season for their farm team , the San Diego Gulls , in the American Hockey League . Regardless of this, he was selected in the fifth round of the KHL Junior Draft 2016 in 146th place by his youth club Jokerit. However, due to his current contract, Kossila stayed in North America and spent the 2016/17 season completely in San Diego, where he scored 54 points in 75 appearances including the play-offs . He also made his debut for Anaheim in the NHL, for which he played a game. in the following two seasons Kossila was still permanent staff of the AHL squad and added another 18 NHL missions to his Vita.

In July 2019, the Finn joined the Toronto Maple Leafs as a free agent .
