Kalmykowo is 22 kilometers northwest of the Rajons capital and former district town of Bagrationovsk (Prussian Eylau) in the area between the rivers Frisching (Russian: prochladnaja) and Pasmar (Maiskaja). The place 1 km west of Pobeda (Arnsberg) can be reached via a side road that connects Niwenskoje (Wittenberg) and Waldimirowo (Tharau) with Slavskoje (Kreuzburg) and Pogranitschnoje (Hussehnen) .
