Maloye Otwaschnoje ( Russian Малое Отважное , German small Wick Bold , lithuanian Mažasis Vikboldas ) is a place in the Russian Kaliningrad Oblast (region Königsberg (Prussia) ) and belongs to Niwenskoje selskoje posselenije (Town Niwenskoje (Wittenberg) ) in Bagrationovsky District (District Prussian Eylau ).
Geographical location
Maloje Otwaschnoje is ten kilometers south of Kaliningrad (Koenigsberg) not far from Otwaschnoje (Wickbold) near the Russian trunk road A 195 (formerly German Reichsstrasse 128 ). Otwaschnoje is also the nearest train station on the route from Kaliningrad to Bagrationowsk (Prussian Eylau) , the former East Prussian Southern Railway .
history
The village, once called Klein Wickbold , with only a few farmsteads, was incorporated into the Wickbold community (today Russian: Otwaschnoje) until 1945 and is closely linked to the history of the mother community. From 1874 to 1895, the place was incorporated into the district of Dalheim (today in Russian: Roschtschino), which belonged to the district of Königsberg (Prussia) (from 1939 district of Samland ) in the district of Königsberg in the Prussian province of East Prussia . Then Wickbold was reclassified to the Ludwigswalde district (Russian: Lesnoje) in the same district and remained there until 1945.
As a result of the Second World War , Klein Wickbold came to the Soviet Union with northern East Prussia in 1945 and was given the Russian name “Maloje Otwaschnoje” in 1946. By 2009 it was incorporated into the Niwenski selski soviet (Dorfsowjet Niwenskoje (Wittenberg) ), then, due to a comprehensive structural and administrative reform, it was initially classified as a "settlement" (Russian: possjolok) in the Novomoskowskoje selskoje posselenije (rural municipality Novomoskowskoje, in Gurjewsk Raion ), but in 2010 it moved to Niwenskoje selskoje posselenije (rural municipality Niwenskoje, in Bagrationovsk Raion ).
church
The mostly Protestant population of Klein Wickbold before 1945 was parish in the parish Ludwigswalde (today Russian: Lesnoje), which belonged to the parish of Königsberg-Land I within the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union .
Today Maloje Otwaschnoje is in the catchment area of the Evangelical Lutheran Resurrection Church parish in Kaliningrad (Königsberg) , which belongs to the Kaliningrad provost of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of European Russia (ELKER).
