history
Weißgrün was founded in 1760 on the property of the Liblín estate by Baron von Ledebur . The baron allowed the clearing of the forests in the river valley to allow German miners and sulfur smelters to settle, who built 20 houses there. The next owners were the Dukes of Nassau , from whom Liblín and the associated villages passed to the Counts of Wurmbrand at the beginning of the 19th century. During that time, the mining industry expanded and the oleum factory was enlarged. In addition, vitriol and phosphorus were produced in white- green . Color was extracted from the highly toxic waste from oleum production, which was called Angel's Red . In 1845 275 people lived in 50 houses in the village. After the replacement of patrimonial, Weißgrün belonged to the Niemtschowitz community from 1850 . In the same year the Auersperger bought the pits and factory. A shift office was set up in white-green . Years of boom followed by decline and in 1891 oleum production was stopped and the production of artificial fertilizers started instead. In 1904 the last alum smelter in West Bohemia ceased operations. After the artificial fertilizer factory was shut down in 1906, the plant was acquired by the Simon Hoffmann company from Pilsen a year later , which resumed the production of red paint from pebbles with just ten workers. During the First World War, the pebble sulfur mining was resumed and stopped after the war. Since then the shafts have flooded .
After the cessation of the mining industry, the place is oriented towards tourism due to its location in a wooded valley.
