The canton of Moulins-la-Marche was 2015 a French canton in the Arrondissement Mortagne-au-Perche , in Orne and the region Basse-Normandie ; its main town was Moulins-la-Marche , the last representative in the General Council of the Département was Jean-Pierre Chevalier from 1979 to 2015. The canton was 158.13 km² and had (1999) 3,609 inhabitants, which corresponded to a population density of 23 inhabitants per km². It was on average at 264 meters above sea level , between 172 m in Mahéru and 319 m in Saint-Pierre-des-Loges .
