The 2014 European Canoe Racing Championships took place from July 10 to 23, 2014 on the Beetzsee regatta course in Brandenburg an der Havel . About 850 athletes from 39 nations took part.
At the European Championships, competitions in canoe racing were held in 26 disciplines. In addition, there were 12 disciplines in parakanu, which were completely included in the program of non-disabled canoe racers for the first time at a European canoeing championship.
The organizer was the European Canoe Association , the host was the German Canoe Association and the local host was the Beetzsee regatta team. The patron of the event was the then Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs, Frank-Walter Steinmeier .
The most successful team in the competitions among the non-disabled canoeists came from Hungary (8/5/0), who placed ahead of the German Canoe Racing National Team (6/3/2) and Belarus (4/2/2) in the medal table. In the Para canoeists won the UK (7/2/0) in the medals table. A total of around 10,000 spectators attended the route. The final races on the Olympic distances were broadcast live by ARD .
