Karl von Eine (born August 26, 1819 in Hanover ; † April 24, 1892 there ) was a Prussian lieutenant general .

Life

origin

Karl came from the noble family Eine . He was the eldest son of Johann Gottfried von Eine (born November 15, 1783 in Gladebeck ; † September 4, 1850 in Lüneburg ) and his wife Wilhelmine Henriette Luise Elisabeth, born von Alten from the Wilkenburg family (born January 8, 1792 in Burgwedel ; † January 15, 1824 in Hanover). His father was a Hanoverian lieutenant colonel and commander of Lüneburg. The later Prussian War Minister and Colonel General Karl von Eine gen. Von Rothmaler was his nephew .

Military career

In 1824, when he was five years old, Karl von Einem's mother died. His father remarried in 1826; his stepmother was Irmgard Freiin von Hammerstein-Equord.

Von Eine attended grammar schools in Hildesheim and Clausthal . He joined the 1st Line Battalion of the Army of the Kingdom of Hanover on May 1, 1836 . In November 1837 he was promoted to Second Lieutenant and transferred to the 2nd Infantry Regiment in mid-February 1838. Here, one rose to regimental adjutant and prime lieutenant in 1848 and took part in the campaign in Schleswig-Holstein until 1849 .
