Katharina Rothärmel (* 1939 in Berlin ) is a German actress , radio play speaker and author .

Life

Katharina Rothärmel was born in Berlin in 1939 as the daughter of the architect Erich Rothärmel . Living in East Berlin , she attended an acting school in West Berlin . With the construction of the Berlin Wall she got her acting diploma from the Ministry of Culture of the GDR . She then had several engagements at various theaters in the GDR, such as the Elbe-Elster-Theater in Lutherstadt Wittenberg , the Deutsches Theater Berlin and the Berliner Ensemble. In addition to her theater work, she also freelanced in front of the camera for film and television from 1972. She has acted as a speaker in several radio plays for the radio.

In 1979, Katharina Rothärmel's first radio play, Ich war die Neuberin, was broadcast on GDR radio, which was followed by several more, and as a freelance writer she wrote some stories.

Katharina Rothärmel lives in Berlin.
