Kelly Williamson (* December 5, 1977 as Kelly Handel ) is an American triathlete , Ironman 70.3 vice world champion (2012) and Ironman winner (2014).

Career

Kelly Handel started her first triathlon in 2000.

Triathlon professional since 2002

She has been a professional triathlete for the US team since 2002.
At the World Long Distance Championships in 2010, she finished 15th in Hawaii and in 2011 was the fourth fastest swimmer to improve to 13th place.

Ironman 70.3 Vice World Champion 2012

In September 2012 she finished second in the middle distance at the Ironman 70.3 World Championships in Las Vegas (1.9 km swimming, 90 km cycling and 21.1 km running).

In May 2014 she won the Ironman Texas with a new personal best in the long distance (3.86 km swimming, 180.2 km cycling and 42.195 km running).

At the world championship on the long distance triathlon she finished sixth in September 2016 (4 km swimming, 120 km cycling and 30 km running).

In September 2017, the 39-year-old finished fourth at the Ironman Chattanooga.

She now lives in Austin, Texas with her husband Derick .
