Kimberly Hebert Gregory (* 7. December 1973 in Houston , Texas as Kimberly Hebert ) is an American actress , mainly for her role as Dr. Belinda Brown gained notoriety from the HBO series Vice Principals .

life and career

Kimberly Hebert Gregory was born the youngest of three children in the Texas metropolis of Houston. There she also attended the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts . She gained her first stage experience there before she first earned her bachelor's degree in psychology at Mount Holyoke College . During their time there, they performed on stage as far as London and Hamburg . She later moved to Chicago , where she attended DePaul University and the University of Chicago and graduated with a master's in social work . In Chicago, she also met her future husband, whose surname she also adopted. Together they are parents of one son.

In Chicago, Hebert Gregory stood on the city's most important stages before trying her luck in New York City for a while . She was part of the cast of The Lion King for a year , in which she played the role of the hyena Shenzi . She was active again in Chicago until the late 1990s. Her achievements earned her a Jeff Award nomination in about 1998 . In 2012 she was nominated for the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Featured Actress in a Play , which she received for her performance in the play By the Way, Meet Vera Stark by Lynn Nottage .

Hebert Gregory has also been active in film and television since 2007, after she took on the role of babysitter in the film I Believe I Love My Wife . Since then she has taken on other film roles in, for example, Red Hook Summer , White Alligator and The Genesis of Lincoln . More often, however, she can be seen in guest roles on US television, including in Gossip Girl , Private Practice , Two and a Half Men , Shameless , Ich war's nicht , The Big Bang Theory , Grey's Anatomy , The Soul Man , Brooklyn Nine-Nine or Better Call Saul .

In 2014 she starred as Lucinda Miller in a supporting role in the series Devious Maids . From 2016 to 2017 she played alongside Danny McBride and Walton Goggins as Dr. Belinda Brown one of the lead roles on the HBO series Vice Principals . In September 2016, The Wrap magazine named Hebert Gregory the breakout star of the series. Since 2017 she can also be seen as Yvette in the ABC series Kevin (Probably) Saves the World .
