Location of Kindlas in Hirschau

Kindlas is a district of the town of Hirschau in the Amberg-Sulzbach district in Upper Palatinate in Bavaria .

origin of the name

The place name comes from the genitive of the family name or personal name Kühnlein, which is documented in the Reichenecker fief books in the 15th century. Kindlas was first mentioned as "Wüstung zum Kuenleins" in Salpuch zu Sulzbach , which was built between 1366 and 1368. In 1393 Kindlas was mentioned as Künleins, in 1419 as "zu dem Künleins" and in 1501 as Künles. 1574 as "zum Kinlas", 1577 as Künles, 1630 as Khünles and 1766 as the village of Zum Kindlas.

history

In 1393, Duke Stephan of Bavaria lent the two Kuenleins farms to Peter Wysenacker. In 1419 Count Palatine Johann gave a court to the Künleins to Hanns Wildensteiner the Old as a fief. The military register of the Hirschau nursing office from 1501 shows that Künles, as it is called there, belonged to Hirschau. In the years 1577, 1630 and 1766 Kindlas is mentioned as belonging to the Hirschau.
