Kjetil-Vidar Haraldstad (stage name Frost , born June 28, 1973 in Øyer ) is a Norwegian drummer who is best known as a member of the bands Satyricon and 1349 .

Life

On a recommendation from Bård “Faust” Eithun , Frost played for Satyricon, but could hardly play drums at the time. Eithun was originally supposed to get on there himself, but joined Emperor . As a session drummer, Frost helped with the demo The Forest Is My Throne and later became a permanent member. Since 1994 he has been the only member of the band together with Sigurd "Satyr" Wongraven. When Mayhem drummer Jan Axel Blomberg sold his old drums in the same year, Frost took it over; he had also used it for Satyricon's debut album Dark Medieval Times and during rehearsals, and it had also been used by other Norwegian bands.

From 1995 Frost also played in other bands and projects such as Gorgoroth and Zyklon-B . In 2000 he joined the band 1349 as a drummer, which for a long time was "disdainfully regarded as 'Frost's other band'". He also played drums for Gehenna and Keep of Kalessin as well as two songs on the album UTD - Beneath the Odd-Edge Sounds to the Twilight Contract of the Black Fascist / The Wealth of the Penetration in the Abstract Paradigmas of Satan by the band Furze .

Before 2008, his two bands had to find replacements while on tour in America because he was unable to get a visa from the Department of Homeland Security due to an undisclosed bar fight for which he had served a five-month prison term . 1349 replaced him with Tony Laureano , Satyricon with Joey Jordison and Trym Torson .
