from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Klaus Emil Heinrich Zapf (born May 17, 1952 in Bad Rappenau ; † August 20, 2014 in Eppingen ) was a German removal company and the founder and co-owner of the company Zapf Umzüge in Berlin .

Life

Zapf was the son of a police officer and grew up in Eppingen in northern Baden . In the early 1970s he moved to Berlin to avoid military service in the Bundeswehr . He studied law at the Free University of Berlin and worked as a beer tapper or as a furniture packer. His friends were involved in the left scene ; Rudi Dutschke was one of his friends . Zapf dropped out of his studies, founded his moving company in 1975 and became an income millionaire. After a first heart attack in 2000, Zapf withdrew from the active business of Zapf Umzüge , founded Pomoschnik Rabotajet GmbH and entered the stock market. He became known nationwide as an occasional talk show guest.

As one of the largest moving companies in Europe, Zapf never had a driver's license . His first marriage was to the actress Barbara Frey until 1990 . From the mid-1990s with the ad acquaintance Annette, they had a daughter five years later. The divorce took place another twelve years later. On June 27, 2014 he married a childhood friend, the Berlin naturopath, astrologer and owner of an esoteric bookstore Ingrid Reimold. He died of a heart attack on August 20, 2014 while on honeymoon. After a memorial service in his home town in Baden, his urn is to be buried in a cemetery in the Berlin area .

Der Spiegel wrote in the obituary: He was a left-wing capitalist, a pragmatist among the idealists and a multi-million dollar businessman who rummaged through Berlin's garbage cans for returnable bottles like a homeless man .

Lawsuits against public companies

Since the 2000s, Zapf has been suing certain resolutions by stock corporations that he believed to be unlawful. In the business-friendly press, he was referred to as a professional plaintiff for this , although he advocated these lawsuits not only for his own benefit, but above all for the interests of small investors (e.g. against the tax exemption of Susanne Klatten's share portfolio at Altana ). In 2010 he was sued for damages by Real Estate International Investment AG in 2007 by the Frankfurt am Main regional court . To his motivation to sue certain stock corporations, he expressed in a video portrait: “I always sue companies when they are kidding their shareholders.” Zapf was one of them with his company Pomoschnik Rabotajet GmbH ( Russian : 'The helper works') Investigation by the Institute for Law and Finance at the University of Frankfurt am Main in 2007 as one of the "Top 20 plaintiffs" in Germany. In 2011 he was listed as the front runner.
