Kleinobringen is a district of the rural community Am Ettersberg in the north of the Weimarer Land district .

Kleinobringen is located on the northern flank of the Ettersberg, 5 km from the city of Weimar .

history

Kleinobringen was first mentioned by name on June 13, 1342 in a sales document. It belonged to the Lords of Meusebach (Amt Buttelstedt ) until 1489 . After the acquisition by the Ernestine Elector, Kleinobringen belonged to the Weimar office . From the beginning of the 19th century until 1918 the place was part of the Grand Duchy of Saxony-Weimar-Eisenach . Kleinobringen was separated from Heichelheim in 1877 after countless disputes. The place became part of the Soviet occupation zone and the GDR after 1945 with the state of Thuringia . Since 1990 the place belongs to the newly founded state of Thuringia.

On January 1, 2019, the municipality of Kleinobringen was merged with other municipalities of the administrative community of Northern Weimar to form the rural municipality of Am Ettersberg .
