Stedten am Ettersberg is a district of the rural community Am Ettersberg in the Weimarer Land district in Thuringia .
geography
Stedten is located at the foot of the northern roof of the Ettersberg, southeast of Berlstedt on state road 1054 in an arable area in the Thuringian Basin, about 500 meters west of Ramsla . The Synderbach , a tributary of the Lache, flows through the village . Berlstedt and Ottmannshausen are the western neighbors.
history
The first documentary mention of the village was on March 10, 1294 or, according to the municipality, on January 16, 1194. The village was on the Königsstrasse ( Via Regia ). This road led from France via Frankfurt am Main , Erfurt , Leipzig to Krakow and beyond. Few farmers lived in the former manor village. The church was first mentioned in 1421 . It is a listed building . Now it still serves as a hostel for hikers on the pilgrim path. From 1990 onwards an extensive renovation of the village began. A riding stable has set up in the village.
