Commander of the Sea Defense East Frisia
The Commandant of the Sea Defense Ostfriesland , or Seekommandant Ostfriesland for short , was a regional coastal commander of the German Navy in World War II , who was subordinate to the commanding Admiral German Bight . The office was set up in November 1944 with its seat in Tidofeld near Norden in East Friesland . Rear admiral Kurt Weyher was the only sea commander .

Section Borkum
Responsible for the island of Borkum and the Dutch island of Rottum . The island commander was also the fortress commander from the beginning of 1945.

The commander was Captain Werner Stichling until May 1940, and from May 1944 until the end of the war, Frigate Captain Kurt Goebell , who was later sentenced to death by the USA for the lilacides of Borkum .
Section Emden
The western part of the East Frisian peninsula without the offshore islands belonged to the Emden section . In addition, there were the Dutch provinces of Friesland , Gelderland , Groningen , Overijssel and Utrecht including the islands of Schiermonnikoog , Ameland , Terschelling and Vlieland .
