Konstantin Alexejewitsch von Baranoff ( Russian : Константин Алексеевич Баранов; born June 3, 1859 in Tallinn ; † July 9, 1936 in Loal ) was a major general in the Imperial Russian Army .

history

Konstantin von Baranoff first attended the Knight's and Cathedral School in Reval and from 1876 to 1878 received his officer training at the Pauls War School in Saint Petersburg . His first practical service he graduated in Semenowski- bodyguard - Regiment , where he remained until 1904. 1880 he was appointed lieutenant transport, the next higher promotions were made in 1885 to the staff leader and 1898 to captain . In 1902 he was promoted to colonel , in 1905 he was on the side of the Russian Empire in the Russian Revolutionused. From 1907 to 1918 he was the commander of the 146th Infantry Regiment in Tsaritsyn . Ultimately, he was promoted to major general and was regimental commander .

Constantine came from the very noble Russian noble family von Baranoff , which settled in the middle of the 16th century - first in the Baltic States under Swedish rule. His father was Alexei von Baranoff (1820–1863), who was married to Julie Marie Helene von Helffreich (1829–1912). Konstantin married Jenny Luise von Reutern (1869-1893) in his first marriage and Marie Elisabeth von Reutern (* 1864), the sister of his first wife, in his second marriage. His descendants were:

  • Tatjana Charlotte von Baranoff (* 1897 in Gatchina ), she was a nurse in Riga;
  • Alexei Basil von Baranoff (* 1898) was Dr. Phil in Göttingen ∞ Maria Jansen from Essen
  • Konstantin Alexander von Baranoff (* 1900 in Saint Petersburg), engineer in Berlin

and Maria Jenny von Baranoff (see below). His estates included Loal and Röa in Harju County ( Estonia ), he lived in Loal's mansion until his death in 1936 .

Maria was born on June 29, 1905 in Gatchina ( Ukraine ). She was married on November 28, 1927 in Vienna to Johann Albrecht von Rantzau , called Joachim von Dissow (* October 2, 1900 in Schwerin - Ostorf , † July 22, 1993 at Elmischwang Castle ). Von Rantzau was a historian , university professor and publicist . Maria von Rantzau worked in the foreign service of the German Reich in the 1930s . In this position, she traveled to China from 1936 to 1940 and temporarily to Japan in 1939 . She then worked for the Economic Policy Society in Berlin from 1941 to 1943. In 1943/44 she was deployed again in the Foreign Office and then conscripted to the Armed Forces High Command .
