Kortelshütte is a district of the city of Oberzent in the Odenwaldkreis in southern Hesse and is located in the Rothenberg district . Kortelshütte is the southernmost village in the Odenwaldkreis.
geography
The climatic health resort is located in the southern Odenwald in the Geo-Naturpark Bergstrasse-Odenwald . Kortelshütte is located in a protected mountain cut of the Hirschhorner Höhe . State road 3410 runs through the village .
history
Kortelshütte was first mentioned in a document in 1756. The place name changed from Kortelshütte (1829) via Kordelshütte (1858) to the current name. The village was founded for new settlers as well as for those without land or property and has grown from new development areas since 1920.
In 1927 Kortelshütte was incorporated into what was then the Rothenberg community . On January 1, 2018, Rothenberg was merged with the three communities of Hesseneck, Beerfelden, and Sensbachtal to form a new town called Oberzent . Kortelshütte became a separate district.

There is a glider airfield between Kortelshütte and the Rothenberg district .
