Unter-Sensbach is a district of the city of Oberzent, newly founded on January 1, 2018, in the Odenwald district in southern Hesse .

Geographical location

Unter-Sensbach lies in the middle of the valley, through which the Sensbach flows in a general north-south direction, framed in the west by the ridge of the Sensbacher Höhe, rising up to 558 meters, and in the east by a mountain range that reaches 546 meters in the Falkenberg .

history

The existence of the place is documented under the name Senczelsbach since 1353 and under the name Nieder-Sentzelspach since 1363. With regard to the central court , Unter-Sensbach was divided. Under-Sensbach under the lime tree belonged to the Palatine centering Eberbach , Upper der Linde the Erbach-Fürstenauische centering began Beerfelden. A Protestant church was built on a ridge in 1961 at the end of Kirchstrasse .

On February 1, 1971 joined sub-Sensbach occasion of municipal reform in Hesse voluntarily with communities upper Sensbach and Hebstahl to the municipality Sensbachtal together, which in turn was formed on 1 January 2018 other municipalities, the city Oberzent.

Culture and sights
