coat of arms

The design of the Krähenwinkel municipal coat of arms was made by the heraldist and graphic artist Alfred Brecht , who designed all the coats of arms in the Hanover region. The approval of the coat of arms was granted on July 31, 1962 by the district president in Hanover.

Coat of arms of Krähenwinkel
Blazon : "In gold on a degraded, green rafter a flying, silver- armored , black crow ."
Reasons for the coat of arms: Krähenwinkel does not have a long history and does not offer any relevant events that could be evaluated for a coat of arms. The place name was even referred to the joke name by researchers at times, as it is not mentioned in old documents. As a compound name (see ravens and crows ), “Krähenwinkel” offered a lot of scope for the imagination. People often used observations from their environment when giving names to their homes. Based on these considerations, the decision of the local council at that time for its own coat of arms can be understood.

The clubs based in Krähenwinkel include the volunteer fire brigade and the sports club TSV KK (gymnastics and sports club Krähenwinkel / Kaltenweide) , which includes the neighboring town of Kaltenweide . The DLRG meets regularly at the forest lake mentioned above. Every year a primary school pupil is drawn to bring the light of peace from Stadl-Paura to Krähenwinkel, as is tradition. This is organized by the Protestant Matthias-Claudius Church. She is the only one in town. Every now and then you can find street parties. NABU members often meet in the Kananoher Moor in spring.
