La Côte (wine region)

La Côte is a wine-growing region in the canton of Vaud ( Switzerland ). The wine-growing area extends to 1,900 hectares. It is located in the arc of Lake Geneva from the canton border of Geneva to the immediate vicinity of Lausanne for 45 km.

50% of the white wine in the Vaud is produced here. Above all, its Gutedel and specialties such as Chardonnay , Pinot Gris and Gewürztraminer .

The region also supplies 50% of the Vaudois red wine.

La Côte includes all the viticulture communities in the canton of Vaud that are located in the west of the city of Lausanne :

In the heart of this region, the “Bonne Côte” includes all the municipalities along the Aubonne and Serine rivers . The Ingénieurs School in Changins trains oenologists and horticulturists in French-speaking Switzerland. viticulture , oenology and arboriculture .
