Larimore is a small town (with the status " City ") in Grand Forks County in the US -amerikanischen State North Dakota . In 2010 Larimore had 1,346 inhabitants. The place was named after the farmer Newell G. Larimore.
Larimore is part of the Greater Grand Forks metropolitan area .

Larimore is located in eastern North Dakota. The city is about two kilometers south of the Turtle River , a left tributary of the Red River of North that forms the border with Minnesota . The geographical coordinates of Larimore are 47 ° 54'30 "north latitude and 97 ° 37'40" west longitude. The urban area extends over an area of 1.53 km².
Neighboring towns to Larimore are Inkster (18 miles north), Gilby (19 miles northeast), Grand Forks Air Force Base (14 miles east northeast), Northwood (14 miles south) and Niagara (26, 7 km northwest).

The four-lane US Highway 2 runs several kilometers north of Larimore in a west-east direction . North Dakota Highway 18 as the main road runs through the urban area in a north-south direction . All other roads within the urban area are subordinate country roads, some unpaved roads and inner-city connecting roads.
