The Grand Forks County is a county in the US -amerikanischen State North Dakota . In 2010 , the county had 66,861 residents and a population density of 18 people per square kilometer. The county seat is Grand Forks .
geography
The county is located in northeast North Dakota on the west bank of the Red River of the North , which forms the border with Minnesota . It has an area of 3729 square kilometers, of which 5 square kilometers are water. history
The Grand Forks County was formed in 1873. It was named after the city of Grand Forks, which was named after its location at the confluence of the Red Lake River and the Red River of the North .
A total of 67 buildings and sites in the county are registered in the National Register of Historic Places (as of March 24, 2018).

The racial the population was composed of 90.5 percent white, 2.5 percent African American, 2.7 percent Native American, 2.0 percent Asian, 0.1 percent Polynesian and other ethnic groups; 2.3 percent were descended from two or more races. Regardless of ethnicity, 3.4 percent of the population was Hispanic or Latino of any race.
19.4 percent of the population were under 18 years old, 69.8 percent were between 18 and 64 and 10.8 percent were 65 years or older. 48.6 percent of the population was female.
