The Eddy County is a county in the state of North Dakota of the United States . The county seat is New Rockford .

The county is located northeast of the geographic center of North Dakota and has an area of ​​1,889 square kilometers, of which 37 square kilometers are water. It is bordered clockwise by the following counties: Benson County , Nelson County , Griggs County , Foster County, and Wells County .

history

Eddy County was formed on March 31, 1885. It was named after Ezra B. Eddy, one of the first bankers in the Fargo area .

As of the 2000 census , Eddy County had 2,757 people in 1,164 households and 743 families. The population density was 2 people per square kilometer.
