Logan County is a county in the state of North Dakota in the United States . The county seat is Napoleon .

The county is located southeast of the geographic center of North Dakota, about 50 km to the south from South Dakota and has an area of ​​2,619 square kilometers, of which 48 square kilometers are water. It is bordered by counties in a clockwise direction: Stutsman County , LaMoure County , McIntosh County , Emmons County, and Kidder County .

history

Logan County was formed on January 4, 1873 and finally organized on September 1, 1884. It was named after John A. Logan , a US Senator from Illinois .
