Towner County is a county in the state of North Dakota in the United States . The county seat is Cando .

The county is located a little east of north North Dakota, borders Canada and has an area of ​​2,698 square kilometers, of which 44 square kilometers are water. It is bordered by counties in the United States in a clockwise direction: Cavalier County , Ramsey County , Benson County , Pierce County, and Rolette Counties .

history

Towner County was formed in 1883. It was named after Oscar M. Towner .
