The Walsh County is a county in the US -amerikanischen State North Dakota . In 2010 , the county had 11,119 residents and a population density of 3.3 people per square kilometer. The county seat is Grafton .

history
Walsh County was formed on February 18, 1881 and finally organized on August 30 of the same year. It was named after George H. Walsh (1845-1913), an early settler in the area and later editor of a newspaper in Grand Forks . Walsh was a member of the Legislative Assembly of the Dakota Territory and the North Dakota Legislative Assembly .
A total of 15 buildings and sites in the county are registered in the National Register of Historic Places (as of April 3, 2018).

According to the 2010 census , Walsh County had 11,119 people in 4,825 households. The population density was 3.3 people per square kilometer. Statistically, 2.23 people lived in each of the 4825 households.
The racial the population was composed of 96.5 percent white, 0.3 percent African American, 1.5 percent Native American, 0.4 percent Asian, 0.1 percent Polynesian and other ethnic groups; 1.2 percent were descended from two or more races. Regardless of ethnicity, 9.8 percent of the population was Hispanic or Latino of any race.
21.6 percent of the population were under 18 years old, 57.5 percent were between 18 and 64 and 20.9 percent were 65 years or older. 49.3 percent of the population was female.
