Oliver County is a county in the state of North Dakota in the United States . The county seat is Center .

The county is located just west of the geographic center of North Dakota and has an area of ​​1,894 square kilometers, of which 20 square kilometers are water. It is bordered by counties in a clockwise direction: McLean County , Burleigh County , Morton County, and Mercer Counties .

history

Oliver County was formed on March 12, 1885, and finally organized on May 18 of the same year. It was named after Harry S. Oliver , an early politician and member of the Legislative Assembly of the Dakota Territory .
