Laurent Gras (born March 15, 1976 in Chamonix ) is a French ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Chamonix Hockey Club in the Ligue Magnus since 2009 .

Career

Laurent Gras began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the youth department of the Huskies de Chamonix , for whose professional team he was active from 1994 to 1996 in the Ligue Magnus , the top French division. Then the center played for a season for the Gothiques d'Amiens , where he became a leading player. In his year in Amiens he also received the trophy Jean-Pierre Graff as the best young player in the league. He then played for his hometown club Huskies de Chamonix for another two years before playing again for the Gothiques d'Amiens from 1999 to 2008. In the 2002/03 season, the long-time national player received the trophy Albert Hassler as the best French player in the Ligue Magnus. In the 2003/04 season he won the French championship title for the first and only time with Amiens .

For the 2008/09 season grass moved within Ligue Magnus to the Pingouins de Morzine-Avoriaz . Since 2009 he has been back on the ice for his hometown club from Chamonix, which now plays as Chamois de Chamonix.

International

For France , Gras took part in the junior division of the U18 European Junior B Championships in 1994 and the U20 Junior B World Championships in 1995 and 1996 .

In the senior sector, he was in his country's squad at the B World Championships in 2001 , 2002 , 2003 , 2005 , 2006 and 2007 and at the A World Championships in 1997 , 1998 , 2004 , 2008 , 2009 , 2010 and 2011 . He also represented France at the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano and 2002 in Salt Lake City .
