Le Bois-d'Oingt is a commune Déléguée in the French commune of Val d'Oingt with 2,503 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Rhône in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . The inhabitants are called Buisantins .
With effect from January 1, 2017, the former municipalities of Le Bois-d'Oingt , Oingt and Saint-Laurent-d'Oingt were merged to form the Commune nouvelle Val d'Oingt. Since then it has had the status of a Commune déléguée. It was part of the arrondissement of Villefranche-sur-Saône and the canton of Le Bois-d'Oingt .

Le Bois-d'Oingt is located around 35 kilometers northwest of Lyon in the Bourgogne wine region on the Azergues River . Le Bois-d'Oingt is surrounded by the neighboring towns of Saint-Laurent-d'Oingt in the northwest, Oingt in the north, Moiré in the east, Bagnols in the southeast, Le Breuil and Legny in the south and Saint-Verand in the west.
