Leif Berger (born February 28, 1995 in Münster ) is a German jazz musician ( drums ).

Live and act

Berger grew up in Münster. Since 2013 he has been studying jazz drums with Jonas Burgwinkel at the Cologne University of Music and Dance .

Berger belongs to Martin Gasser's quartet , to the bands of Laura Totenhagen and Riaz Khabirpour and to the Avocado trio around Moritz Wesp and Alexander Dawo. His own band The Hard Core includes Fabian Dudek , Felix Hauptmann , Moritz Wesp, Yannis Anft and Alexander Dawo. Concerts have taken him to Germany, Morocco, Belgium, Switzerland and the Netherlands so far. He also worked and played with musicians such as Tobias Hoffmann , Hendrik Soll , Sebastian Gramss , Jonas Burgwinkel, Russ Spiegel , Sebastian Gille , Anna-Lena Schnabel , Sabeth Pérez , Joachim Ulrich and Robert Landfermann and made guest appearances at the Moers Festival and the Bonn Jazz Festival .

In 2015, Berger won the Claas Willeke Soloist Prize in the competition for the Hfm Jazz Prize Saar.
