Leonard Goldberg

Leonard J. Goldberg (born January 24, 1934 in New York City , † December 4, 2019 in Los Angeles ) was an American film and television producer .

Life

Goldberg began his career as a television producer in the 1970s when he joined Aaron Spelling and developed a number of television series with him , including Charlie's Angels , Hart But Warm, and Starsky & Hutch . He was program director for ABC television and later president of the 20th Century Fox film company . He later also produced the feature film adaptations of Charlie's Angels under the titles Charlie's Angels and Charlie's Angels - Full Power . He also produced the thriller Doppelmord (1999) directed by Bruce Beresford with Ashley Judd and Tommy Lee Jones . His own production company, Mandy Films , later merged with Columbia Pictures Television .

Most recently he worked as executive producer on the series Blue Bloods - Crime Scene New York and the film reboot 3 Engel für Charlie (2019) since 2010 . In the course of his career he has been involved in more than 80 productions for film and television; for his services he received a television star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1986 . He was also nominated four times for an Emmy , which he won in 1984.

Goldberg died in hospital from injuries sustained in a fall. He left behind his wife, three children and five grandchildren.
