Leopold August Gotthard Jobst Freiherr von Loën (born June 24, 1817 in Luckau , † February 26, 1895 in Morsbroich ) was a Prussian infantry general .

He was the son of Friedrich von Loën (born April 25, 1787; † August 14, 1868) and his wife Albertine Karoline Charlotte, born von Hedemann (born June 14, 1792; † April 2, 1869), a sister of August von Hedemann . Military career

Loën attended the Knight Academy in Brandenburg an der Havel until Easter 1834 . On October 1, 1834, he joined the 1st Guards Regiment on foot in the Prussian Army as a grenadier . On July 27, 1857, he was ordered to carry out the business as a Plenipotentiary at the Imperial Russian Court in St. Petersburg until Loën was confirmed on November 5, 1857 at this post. During the German War it was parts of his brigade that almost completely destroyed an Austrian brigade in the battle of Rudersdorf on June 28, 1866.
