Leslie Easterbrook (born July 29, 1949 in Los Angeles , California ) is an American actress .

Life

She was adopted and raised by a family in rural Nebraska . Her father was a professor of singing and trumpet at the University of Nebraska at Kearney . He prepared her for opera roles and taught her to play the trumpet for the hit television series Laverne & Shirley .

With roughly a dozen films and over 300 episodes on American television, Easterbrook is a familiar face to American audiences. In Laverne & Shirley , she became known in the role of the Marilyn Monroe -like neighbor. The role she became best known for is that of busty blonde Debbie Callahan in the popular Police Academy series . She embodied this in six of the seven films.

Among the TV shows Leslie starred in were Murder Is Her Hobby , Real Great, Mr. Cooper , Baywatch , Matlock , Hunter, and A Duke Seldom Comes Alone . She played the role of Devlin Kowalski in the soap opera Ryan's Hope . In 2007 she appeared in a supporting role in the horror film Halloween . Two years earlier, she had worked with director Rob Zombie as an actress on The Devil's Rejects .

Because of her vocal talents, Leslie Easterbrook was selected to sing the national anthem at Super Bowl XVII and to star in numerous musicals on Broadway and around the country.
