Levko Koper (born October 5, 1990 in Edmonton , Alberta ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who has been under contract with HC 05 Banská Bystrica from the Tipsport Extraliga since December 2018 .

Career

Koper began his career in 2006 with the Spokane Chiefs in the Western Hockey League . With his team he was champion of the 2007/08 WHL season , which qualified the team for the Memorial Cup 2008 , which they also won. The following year Koper was nominated for the CHL Top Prospects Game .

From 2011 to 2016 Koper played for the University of Alberta team , with which he won the 2014 University Cup championship. In the 2015 Winter Universiade to Koper the bronze medal secured. In his senior year he was also on the ice for the Cincinnati Cyclones from the ECHL .

Koper spent the 2016/17 season both with the Florida Everblades from the ECHL and with their cooperation partner, the Charlotte Checkers from the American Hockey League , where he completed most of the season.

In 2017 Koper moved to Europe to the Straubing Tigers in the German Ice Hockey League . After the right-shooter initially received a try-out contract, this was converted into a full contract shortly before the start of the 2017/18 season .

In summer 2018 he moved to Austria for HC Innsbruck , before his contract was terminated in December and he moved to HC 05 Banská Bystrica in the Slovak Tipsport Extraliga . There he won the Slovak championship in 2019 .
