Liebhards is one of eleven districts of the market town of Hilders in the Hessian Rhön biosphere reserve , together with the hamlet of Steinbach , the Milseburg farmstead group and the village of Oberbernhards .

Liebhards is five kilometers west of the main town in the Scheppenbachtal and has its own district . State road 3379 runs through the village .

history

The village was documented in 1331 as owned by the Fulda prince abbot Heinrich VI. mentioned by Hohenberg . In 1343 it was handed over by him to the Frauenberg monastery , presumably to help with the conflict with the city of Fulda a few years earlier. Around 1520 the church belonging to the parish of Gotthard was mentioned. In 1656 a separate chapel was named. In 1787 it belonged to the Bieberstein office of the prince abbey of Fulda. From 1803 to 1806 in the course of mediatization it became part of the Principality of Nassau-Oranien-Fulda , for another four years it was under French-Napoleonic military administration in the Principality of Fulda , before it became the Grand Duchy of Frankfurt (Department of Fulda, District of Bieberstein) from 1810 to 1813 . From 1814 part of the Kingdom of Bavaria , the place came in 1867 to Prussia ( province of Hessen-Nassau , administrative district of Kassel), after 1945 to Hesse. On December 31, 1971 the previously independent community of Liebhards was incorporated into the community of Hilders.
