Lillian Hurst

Lillian Hurst (born August 13, 1943 in San Juan ) is a Puerto Rican actress and comedian . Hurst made her debut as a television comedian in the early 1960s. She has participated in various off-Broadway and film productions in the United States .

Life

Early life

Hurst comes from a middle-class family. Her father was the owner of the "Farmacia Imperial" ( pharmaceutical company ) in Barrio Obrero. Hurst is also the cousin of Puerto Rican television producer , actor, and businessman Tommy Muñiz .

At a young age, Hurst told her parents that she wanted to become an actress. After completing primary and secondary school, she registered for Ana Santisteban's Model Academy . While she was waiting for an acceptance from the academy when she was 17 in 1960, she tried herself with friends as a street comedian. Producer Gaspar Pumarejo discovered Hurst when he was looking at the academy for new talent for the show he was producing.

First television success

Then she was in the comedy series "Pompilia y su Familia" (Eng. Pompilia and her family) , which was broadcast on the Puerto Rican station "WAPA-TV". She later hosted "La Hora del Niño" (German children's hour ) on channel 6 of Puerto Rican television. Other shows in which she was involved in the 1960s are "Casos y Cosas de la Casa" ( Eng . Things and household items ) and "Matrimonio y Algo Más" ( Eng . Marriage and a little more ). In 1969, Hurst was commissioned by Panamerican de Telivison in Lima , Peru , to work on the project "El Hit del Momento" (Eng. The Hit of the Moment ) for a year.

When Hurst moved back to Puerto Rico , she was working on projects her cousin Tommy Muñiz produced. She also starred in various theatrical performances. Among them were "La Casa de las Hojas Azules" (German: The house with the blue leaves ) and "La Verdadera Historia de Pedro Navaja" (German: The true story of Pedro Navaja ). In 1980 she wrote and produced a stage performance which she presented at the Condado Beach Hotel in San Juan.

Living in the United States

Hurst went to New York to star in off-Broadway productions for a short time . In 1989, she moved to Los Angeles , California where they are in the Santa Monica College enrolled and there Psychology studied. Hurst can act in English and Spanish-language films. She got the role of "Mrs. Maris" in Windows (1991), which was presented in the Taper Forum, and the role of "Lola" in "La Balada de Tina Jaurez" (dt. The ballad of Tina Jaurez ) (1992). Hurst founded an acting school for Hispanic students. Numerous guest roles followed, such as the role of "Carmen Reyes" in the US series Lost
