Linda Emond (born May 22, 1959 in New Brunswick , New Jersey ) is an American actress .

Life and accomplishments

Emond got her first film role in God's Will from 1989. In the television thriller Laura's Shadow (1993) she played one of the bigger roles alongside Brooke Shields . In the independent comedy Almost Salinas (2001) she took on one of the leading roles.

As a theater actress , Emond appeared in Chicago - where she was nominated five times for the Jeff Award - and in New York City . Her role in the play Life x 3 earned her a 2003 Tony Award nomination and an Outer Critics Circle Award nomination . For her role in Homebody / Kabul she received the Obie Award , the Lucille Lortel Award and several award nominations.

In the drama Kaltes Land (2005), Emond appeared on the side of Charlize Theron . In the musical Across the Universe (2007) she played the mother of Lucy Carrigan ( Evan Rachel Wood ). She starred opposite Ryan Phillippe in the 2008 war drama Stop-Loss .
