Castle: picturesquely situated on a foothill, irregular ring-shaped complex. The earliest archaeological findings from the 13th / 14th centuries. Century, from this time the keep dates from. Initially owned by von Waldenburg, after changing ownership in 1492 sold to Heinrich von Einsiedel. Numerous structural changes between the 14th and 16th centuries, the extensive reconstruction in Renaissance forms under Heinrich Abraham von Einsiedel in 1535, using the medieval cellars as a foundation. A devastating fire in 1921 almost completely destroyed the old roof structure and the interior fittings, until 1922 reconstruction under the direction of Bodo Ebhardt. Restoration 1993–95.
