Detailed memorial texts

  1. a b The Grüner Graben runs for a total of about 8 km from the junction of the Große Bockau on the northern border of Wildenthal (Wehr), initially as a slope ditch below the road at a height of about 700 m to the north, passes the Waldhausen estate and runs through the eastern part of Eibenstock, where a hundred years ago at the cemetery it was directed northeast to the Steinbach, which again flows south of Blauenthal into the Große Bockau. Its course today is narrow, interrupted several times and partly fortified with granite stones. On the eastern slope of the Elbow, wooden walls of approx. 15x20 cm made of planks hewn on four sides and partly dry masonry at breakthroughs were found.
The moat is inextricably linked with the social and economic history of Eibenstock over centuries. Through the Grüner Graben, posterity can also see with what technical finesse, e.g. B. with regard to slope and fortification, with which means and materials the water was channeled for production purposes as early as the 16th century. narrow, multiple broken course, fortified with granite stones, course from Wildenthal (weir) over Eibenstock, there z. T. image-defining, finally confluence with the Große Bockau again, currently z. T. moderate condition.
  2. duplex:
    • Auersbergstraße 4: two-story massive clinker brick building, with artificial stone window frames and central gable, half-hip roof,
    • Ringstraße 30: two-storey solid building, clinkered, with artificial stone window frames, central gable to Ringstraße in ornamental framework, that to Auersbergstraße in clinker, slate-covered half-hip roof.
  3. In 1722, the Electorate of Saxony began to erect the Saxon post-mile pillars. Elector Friedrich August I wanted to build a modern traffic and transport control system in the electorate in order to promote trade and economy. He entrusted Magister Adam Friedrich Zürner (1679 - 1742) with the implementation. The system of post mile pillars comprised distance pillars, quarter milestones, half and full mile pillars. The distance columns should be set up in the cities in front of the city gates, later only on the marketplaces. Quarter milestones, half and full mile pillars were set up along the Poststrasse. They received a consecutive numbering (row number), starting from the beginning of the measurement. The all-mile columns were set up outside the cities on the post roads at a distance of one mile (= 9.062 km). The distance pillars were marked with the monogram "AR" for "Augustus Rex", the Electoral Saxon and Polish-Lithuanian double coat of arms and the Polish royal crown. The full mile, half mile columns and quarter milestones were all similarly labeled, none of them had a coat of arms, but the monogram "AR". The distances were given in hours (1 hour = ½ post mile = 4.531 km). This mile system was the first European traffic management system. 10. The Schnorrhaus was built around 1680 as the home of the Schneeberg mountain lord Veit Hans Schnorr, the founder of the Hammer von Carlsfeld and financier of the nationally important local church (since then "Schnorr von Carolsfeld"), the building erected in the late 17th century can thus be used as a The nucleus of this place, which is not only important for the mining history of Saxony, can be seen. The structural design language in the basement and ground floor corresponds to the general style of the construction period. Almost one meter thick walls show basket and stitch arches at the openings, there are characteristic groin vaults and also two iron-studded interior doors with original locks. The large quarry stone cellar barrel provides information about the high importance of the house. In the early 18th century, perhaps even towards the middle of it, there was probably a first phase of reconstruction: the partially walled-up portal wall with its characteristic “ears” can be dated back to this period with certainty. Inside, a stucco ceiling (previously covered) of artistic value was recently discovered in the right-hand room on the ground floor, the strongly curved shapes of which can be associated with the Rococo. All these details prove the former relevance of the house. The original half-timbered upper floor was replaced by brickwork in the 19th century, the frieze on the eaves can also be found on other houses from the later 19th century in the area. The hipped roof also dates from that time, the beams of the roof truss are sawn. Ground floor almost one meter thick field stone masonry, including a large basement quarry stone barrel, ground floor with arched and stitch cap openings, inside partly groined vaults, two pilaster-studded doors with original locks, upper floor in the 19th century replaced with massive bricks, originally half-timbered the construction of the hipped roof also 19th century Century (sawn beams), erected around 1680 by the Schneeberg miner Veit Hans Schnorr, the founder of the Carlsfeld hammer. Another special feature on the ground floor: stucco ceiling in rococo shapes, mid-18th century, the former portal above from the same time.

Flood protection system: fixed crown overflow in the middle of the dam, divided into eight fields (cascades), four of which are arranged to the right and left of a closed wall field (corresponds to the position of the gate valve house), the overflow openings are arched overhead, the narrow pilaster strips with triangular ones Cross-section, which separates the cascades from each other, measures the entire height of the barrier structure - the dam receives a tightly structured, strictly symmetrical facade, the water drained off flows over the cascades into the stilling basin, the barrier structure is bricked on the air side and on the west side They were made of a metal railing between brick posts, which are no longer original, and cover plates were placed on the airside parapet wall around 1960, underneath which the original wall crown was probably preserved until the repair between 1997 and 2000. Refurbishment 1997–2000: Repair of the air side of the dam, renewal of the water-side sealing, installation of a control corridor, renewal of the complete wall crown, renewal of the technical equipment, valve house: the polygonal closing structure with a very flat inclined copper cover leans against the median of the dam, Contains two original slides (Bopp and Reuther, Mannheim - information status prior to renovation, may not have been preserved!), original metal door, surrounded by the stilling basin, accessible via two narrow concrete-constructed walkways, these are according to information from the dam master (Status 1996) including its metal railings still original, keeper's house (probably demolished between 1997 and 2000, process not included in the files): was slightly elevated above the western end of the dam, single-storey, with expanded gable roof, traditionalist building, a smaller one at the rear , made of wood (also broken off). Not a monument: a new construction of a foreman service building between 1997 and 2000 directly at the western end of the dam, a disruptive element visible from afar within the overall system. Carlsfeld waterworks (commissioned in 1936, used to treat the raw water from the dam, the highest dam waterworks in Germany, technical equipment probably renewed after renovation in 2000 and therefore not listed), entry text until 2014: The filter system at the foot of the dam, its oldest building from the 1930s Years ago, is not protected due to disfiguring overmolding. The buildings of the filter system also impair the appearance of the dam wall - see also Dehio Sachsen II.
