List of cultural assets in Wangen an der Aare

The list of cultural assets in Wangen an der Aare contains all objects in the municipality of Wangen an der Aare in the canton of Bern that are subject to the Hague Convention for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict , the Federal Act of June 20, 2014 on the Protection of Cultural Property in the Case of Armed People Conflicts and the ordinance of October 29, 2014 on the protection of cultural property in the event of armed conflict .

Objects in categories A and B are completely included in the list, objects in category C are currently missing (as of January 1, 2018). Among other monuments objects are found, the "worthy of protection" in the canton of Bern Bauinventar than are listed.

Built in its present form from 1575 to 1577 covered wooden bridge over the Aare has five bays and a well drawn hipped roof with final Gerschilden. Of the four pillars, consisting of three concrete and clad with limestone , only the city-side house pillar from 1552, which is recognizable by its shape protruding upwards , was retained .

The castle was built in the 13th century by the Kyburger and was rebuilt around 1408. It received its current early baroque exterior in the 16th and 17th. Century. It consists of the main tower under a bent helmet roof , supplemented by the eastward extension with a gate passage, the north-facing wing of the building with a quarter- hipped roof and carved arches , the polygonal stair tower and the palace with a Baroque facade.

Originally a fortified tower from the 13th century, then used as a Benedictine provostry and since 1574 as a reformed rectory . In its current form, the building presents itself as a baroque residential tower under a curved roof spire with a short ridge from the 16th century. One of the four fortified corner buildings that characterize the town and part of the buildings bordering the town wall.

The Landschreibererei, built around 1570 and used today as a parish hall , is a stately plastered building under a sweeping hipped roof . It has the characteristic shape of a baroque state building in the Bernese countryside and defines the southeast corner of the old town. The building was given its current form between 1757 and 1759 by merging with the neighboring house on the north side with a uniform roof.

Between 1824 and 1826 by Johann Daniel Osterrieth the church building was partly rebuilt and expanded in the classical style. Predecessor buildings at this point date back to 1257. Inside there is a classicist ceiling with rosette reliefs, a stone table and a pulpit from the Biedermeier period . The choir has wall paintings from the 14th and 15th centuries.

Salt warehouse built by the State of Bern in 1775, converted into a publicly used multi-purpose building from 1977 to 1979. Large-volume plastered construction with careful integration of the house and a strikingly bent hipped roof . Roof construction largely original obtained with Aufzugslukarne on the east side and longitudinal towing dormers .
