Pyramid oak with ND sign but without cadastral entry, in front of the depot of the Environment and Garden Office (2019)

The ordinance for the protection of natural monuments in the area of the city of Kassel (natural monuments ordinance) was passed by the city administration of Kassel in order to implement the legal requirements of the Federal Nature Conservation Act and the Hessian Implementation Act for the Federal Nature Conservation Act. The list corresponds to the status of December 3, 2012. Since then, several trees have fallen or have been felled (see statistics ). It is not to be assumed that such changes in the inventory will be registered and published by the responsible Lower Nature Conservation Authority (UNB) (the Environment and Gardening Office of the City of Kassel).

In addition to the trees included in this list, there are also a number of trees in the Kassel city area that have a natural monument sign, but are not recorded in the city cadastre. What these trees are about has not yet been clarified, despite inquiries from the responsible UNB.
