The list of Presidents of Somalia includes all holders of this title from Somalia's independence from July 1960 to the present day.

When the civil war broke out in 1991, Somalia no longer had a functioning central government. After Siad Barre's death , Ali Mahdi Mohammed declared himself president, but could not prevail. From 1995 until his death on August 1, 1996, Mohammed Farah Aidid claimed the title of president. His son and successor Hussein Mohammed Farah took over the claim and held it until December 22, 1997.

The transitional government of Somalia , founded on the initiative of the international community, was regarded internationally as the legitimate representative of the country at the United Nations and other organizations, but for most of the time it controlled only a small fraction of the former national territory.

Somaliland declared its independence in 1991 and has had its own presidents ever since. The other de facto regimes that emerged in Somalia continued to admit their commitment to the common state, but nevertheless acted almost completely autonomously and also determined their own governments. The presidents of the internationally recognized transitional governments had practically no influence. With the establishment of the Federal Republic of Somalia, the restoration of state structures and institutions began. Which regimes will seriously and permanently participate and subordinate to a new central government is in part still the subject of ongoing negotiations or ongoing military operations.
