In the course of the COVID-19 pandemic in Japan , there have been an increasing number of postponements of planned anime projects and interruptions of anime television series that have already started since the beginning of 2020 . This article lists all anime titles that had to be postponed or interrupted in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Postponed or interrupted anime projects

A Certain Scientific Railgun T started regularly The seventh episode has been postponed indefinitely. The reason is that the COVID-19 pandemic is affecting the production of the series. Production chains that have been relocated to the People's Republic of China are particularly affected. On April 17, 2020, another postponement for an indefinite period was announced. In the meantime, the series continued before a third postponement was announced by July 24th.
A3! started regularly The broadcast of the fourth episode has already been postponed several times. The outbreak of the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 has further exacerbated the production problems. number24 started regularly Due to the effects of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus on production, it was suspended for three weeks. The eleventh episode was therefore postponed to April 8, 2020.
Miracles of Love May 29, 2020 The anime film was scheduled to be shown in Japanese theaters on May 29, 2020, but was postponed for an indefinite period on April 14, 2020 due to the coronavirus outbreak.
Words Bubble Up Like Soda Pop May 15, 2020 The movie was scheduled to premiere in Japan on May 15, 2020, but has been postponed to an unknown period of time due to the declaration of a state of emergency for several prefectures by the Japanese government due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Nakitai Watashi wa Neko wo Kaburu May 16, 2020 Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the cinema premiere has been postponed indefinitely. On April 29, 2020, Netflix announced that it would stream the original anime worldwide on June 18.
Gundam Build Divers Re: RISE started regularly The series will pause indefinitely after the 17th episode aired on May 7, 2020.
