  • 16th century, Hans Gorgk (von der Welcze) . First record of a Welzow citizen in the Spremberger city ​​book
    In the oldest Spremberger city book, a citizen named Hans Gorgk von der Welcze was named for the first time on December 12th, 1547 together with the Spremberger councilors and the mayor Hatula from Gosda.
  • Gottlieb Richter (1793–1875), soldier, room polisher

  • Johann Christian Schenk (1850–1867), landowner
    Managed the Welzower estate for the longest uninterrupted period. Opened a small , manual coal mine on the estate in 1860 .
  • Christian Greschow (1862–1942), owner of
    a book printer. On October 1, 1908, he opened a book printer, book and paper shop. The first Welzower Anzeiger newspaper appeared on October 2, 1909, and became a trademark in the decades to come.
  • Carl Rathsburg (1866–1914), glassworks

  • Hermann Schneider (1873–1951), Deputy
