Live in Tokyo live -

Live is the second DVD by the US sludge band EyeHateGod . The DVD contains recordings from three different concerts of the US and European tours in 2009 and 2010, as well as three music videos.

history

In the fall of 2009 EyeHateGod resumed their tour activity and thus the band activity after Hurricane Katrina , which had severely affected the lives of the band members, with a small tour through the American southern states . A European tour followed the US tour.

content

EHG accompanied some of the tours and concerts with a camera and put them together into a live document. On March 22, 2011 the DVD was released on MVD with the simple title Live . The DVD contains 88 minutes of film material. It includes concert recordings from Cleveland on June 17, 2010, from Baltimore on October 23, 2009 and from Vienna on April 22, 2010. There are also music videos for the pieces Sister Fucker , Axient Hangover and the Age of Bootcamp .

A violent confrontation on the DVD with a skinhead from the audience during the performance in Cleveland was also discussed by the band in the tour diary of Decibel Magazine.

"Tonight's crowd is a turbulent ocean of flying bodies and the usual blood and broken stuff. A huge skinhead that nobody wants to fuck with and who we guarantee has never heard of us before keeps getting on stage, gets pushed off, gets back up, and is taking up way too much space on a stage with only barely enough room for five . He decides he's gonna lay down in Mike's zone. Bad move. At first none of us knew what to do with this dude, then Mike starts spitting all over him while he was laying on stage, which then escalated to the guy catching the iron base of the mic stand in the back of the neck. He finally got off the stage. All in all, a great night, all captured on five camera angles by our friends at Digital Live. The night ends with the fucking bonehead getting in a fight (surprise surprise!) With some guy, then a bouncer, and then the owner of the club. Wild."

criticism

Most critics described the DVD as simple but successful and authentic, but criticized the lack of information material, interviews, documentaries or biographies.

“Live” has turned out to be a good DVD, which for about two hours contains exactly what fans of EYEHATEGOD want to see and hear, namely really successful and powerful implementations of the studio material. Of course, here and there there is one or the other mistake and the tone and sound quality is not always outstanding, but a snotty and somehow sympathetic troupe like EYEHATEGOD certainly doesn't care about superficial, smoothly ironed and carelessly put on as well as post-processed mass- DVD goods, but relies on authenticity.
