The Einöde Lohmühle is a district of the city of Gunzenhausen in the central Franconian district of Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen in Bavaria .
location
The mill property is 2.5 km south-east of Alt-Gunzenhausen.
Place name
The name was originally on Bettelmühle, perhaps in the sense of a mill that is not worth much / not very productive, or as a mill on a Bettelbach, a stream that does not carry much water and dries out easily in summer. In the 19th century the name "Lohmühle" came up for the mill; referred to so that a mill in the blaze for Gerber is milled.
history
The "Pettelmühle" was first mentioned in 1468 in connection with a family handover. The mill was valid for the city of Gunzenhausen and vogtable for the margravial Oberamt Gunzenhausen . In 1732 it is said that the mill has run out; but it was still in operation in the 18th century. In 1835 the “Lohmühle, the so-called Bettelmühle” on Weißenburger Straße, from the estate of a red tanner, “consists of a living room, kitchen and mill”, plus a small pond and a vegetable garden. In 1867 the property appears as a beggar mill with 3 residents in 1 building, in 1906 as a tinder mill.
In 1961 there were 14 residents in the two residential buildings of the mill.
