Luan Rafael Domingos Santana (born March 13, 1991 in Campo Grande ), also known as Luan Santana is a Brazilian Latin singer, songwriter and presenter.

In 2009 he released his debut album Tô de Cara and became known with the song Meteoro . He then recorded his first live album, which was nominated for the Latin Grammy for best sertanejo music album and was one of the best-selling albums of the year in 2010.

Life

Luan Rafael Domingos Santana is the son of Marizete Santana and Amarildo Domingos. The father worked at a bank. The family moved several times during his childhood, including to the cities of Maringá , Manaus and Ponta Porã . He began his school career at the NS Auxiliadora School and, due to his many moves, also attended several schools in other cities. Luan Santana learned to play the guitar and sing from an early age. At the age of 14 he threw a party where he made his first recording. The main song chosen for the day from the list of his songs was Falando Serio .

Career

Luan Santana recorded his shows with an amateur recorder in 2008, which were then put together as the first CD . He didn't like the end result, especially the sound quality, and so he decided to cancel the CD . One of his friends already had a copy and posted it on Youtube , where it quickly spread. The music was requested by the listeners of the radio stations of Mato Grosso do Sul , Goiás , Rondônia and Paraná . On August 11, 2007, Luan Santana appeared on stage for the first time in the small town of Bela Vista , because his song Falando Sério landed a hit on the region's radio stations. He then produced his debut album Tô de Cara .

In August 2009 he was invited again to participate in the Festa do Peão de Barretos and performed in front of 50,000 people. Sene 2nd CD, the live album Luan Santana - Ao Vivo was released in 2009. The year 2009 Luan Santana closed with a total of 300 shows played in Brazil.

Signed by Som Livre, Luan released his first DVD Luan Santana - Ao Vivo in November 2010 , which was recorded on August 25, 2009 in the Parque das Nações Indígenas in Campo Grande . During the award show Melhores do Ano (in German: The best of the year) of the television channel Rede Globo in 2009, Luan was a winner in the category Revelação do Ano (Newcomer of the Year). The new work hit stores in December and after a few months the singer was awarded platinum for the CD and double platinum for the DVD. He ended 2010 as the largest seller of phonograms in Brazil as determined by the ABPD .

In January 2010, Luan Santana one week even played long in the telenovela Malhação radio station Rede Globo . The second live album by Luan Santana, entitled Luan Santana Ao Vivo no Rio , was recorded on December 11, 2010 in the HSBC arena in Barra da Tijuca , west of Rio de Janeiro . The singer introduced a mega-production that even had the right to use a catapult - the same one Michael Jackson had used in several of his shows. The musician introduced 15 new songs, including A Bússola , Não Era pra ser , Super-Herói and Palácios e Castelos . With some songs he got support from famous people such as Ivete Sangalo , Belinda Peregrín and Zezé di Camargo & Luciano. On September 3, 2011, Luan Santana performed at Brazilian Day , a festival sponsored by Rede Globo that brings together several Brazilian artists on a stage in the streets of Manhattan .

In April 2011 his second live album was released with the title Ao Vivo no Rio . It included five singles, among other things, all of which reached number one on the Billboard Brasil singles chart .

In April 2012 he released his second studio album, Quando Chega a Noite . Luan Santana had composed seven of the 17 tracks on the album himself. The CD was produced by Santana with the help of his long-term partner Fernando Zorzanello Bonifácio and the duo Fernando & Sorocaba. The title Você de Mim Não Sai was part of a soundtrack for the telenovela Avenida Brasil by Rede Globo .

In June 2013 he released his first Extended Play (EP) entitled Te Esperando and at the same time the album As Melhores… Até Aqui , a compilation of his greatest hits. In July 2013 Luan Santana recorded his third DVD O Nosso Tempo É Hoje in the Maeda Arena in Itu in the interior of São Paulo .

Also in July, the singer performed at Brazilian Day in Tokyo, Japan. On February 21 and 22, 2014 Santana started his O Nosso Tempo É Hoje tour in the Citibank Hall in São Paulo and then toured across the country. On this tour, too, there is a technology on stage that is highly valued for its special effects : 155 LED modules , 48 moving lights and 16 Jarag lamps formed a light panel. In 2014 he took part in the Brazilian version of the song Bailando , a duet with the Spanish singer Enrique Iglesias . This version was carried over to his album Duetos, which was released later that year, which includes all of his previous duets . The singer's fourth DVD , Acústico , was recorded on December 17, 2014 at Quanta Studios in São Paulo . The project was under the motto of the 60s, in which all guests, who were selected by the singer and his staff, were dressed according to the character of the time. The recording was released on April 14, 2015 by Som Livre and contains the singles "Eu Não Merecia Isso" and "Escreve Aí", which reached the top of the Brasil Hot 100 airplay.

In August 2016, Luan recorded his fifth live album and his fifth DVD at the Paulínia Cinematographic Pole. The title 1977 refers to the year the United Nations founded International Women's Day . The project was based on the collaboration with the singers Ana Carolina, Anitta , Ivete Sangalo , Marília Mendonça, Sandy and the actress Camila Queiroz. Before its release, the DVD was shown in several cinemas around the country. The CD reached number 2 on the ABPD album charts, while the DVD reached number 1 on the DVD charts.
