Luchowka ( Russian Лу́ховка ) is an urban-type settlement in the Republic of Mordovia in Russia with 8,639 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010).
geography
The center of the suburb of the republic capital Saransk is about 6 km as the crow flies southeast of the city center. It stretches for about 6 km along the left bank of the Tawla, which flows into the Insar from the right in Saransk .
Luchowka belongs to the Saransk district . It has its own settlement administration, which also subordinates the village of Kulikowka, which adjoins it to the south, and Makarowka, a little to the north, to the right of the Tawla.
history
The previously insignificant village of Luchowka developed into a residential suburb of the city of Saransk from the 1960s and received the status of an urban-type settlement in 1969.

On the southwestern edge of Luchowka, the regional road 89K-11 runs in the direction of Kotschkurowo - Vojewodskoje - border to Penza Oblast (from there as 58K-168 via Lunino to Penza ). On the north-western edge of the settlement it is crossed by the south-eastern bypass around Saransk. Luchowka is connected to the Saransk city bus network.
The nearest train station is also Saransk on the Rusajewka - Krasny Usel - Kanasch route . Saransk Airport is located about 2.5 km southwest of Luchowka .
